The Androscoggin Lake Association, a wonderful group that we have been very active with for several years, in it's efforts to protect and restore the ecosystem of the Androscoggin Lake and Dead River.

 

Maine Rivers

A statewide group working "to protect and enhance Maine's river systems."

Advocates for the Maine environment with legislation, law, science, and the voice of it's 9000 members.

COLA

The Maine Congress of Lake Associations is a strong advocate in protecting Maine's lakes from invasive plants and many other issues.

BioDiversity Research Institute

A non-profit ecological research group, doing ground-breaking work studying the impacts of toxins on wildlife and the ecosystem. At their Loon Web Cam you can see dramatic photos of a loon chick hatching last year, and watch the live webcam again this spring. You can also support their work through their Adopt-A-Loon program.

Town of Wayne

The town's website has lots of information on the town's history, organizations, businesses, etc.

Camp Androscoggin

A world class boy's camp on the shores of the lake, and a great place for college students to be camp counselors.

Riverbend Campground

In Leeds, Maine and on the banks of the Dead River, has direct access to Androscoggin Lake and great boating and fishing.

Angell Cove Cottages

On the quiet end of Androscoggin Lake, where you can see an abundance of wildlife, eagles, loons, herons, and osprey. There are twelve unique cottages, each decorated with a different bird theme.

Ne-Bo-Da

A very informative website about the history and culture of the Abenaki, the first people who lived in the Androscoggin Valley and Western Maine.
